Congratulations to the 45 Mira Mesa HS students who performed Saturday, February 25th in the district Honor Band and Orchestra Concert at Copley Symphony Hall. The concert was wonderful and Mr. Mulvaney and I are proud of our tremendous student representation in both groups.

Also, a big thank you to all who helped at the Color Guard Competition on Saturday! 30 teams came to compete on our campus and once again the student and parent volunteers helped make the day a successful one. Our JV team placed 2nd in their division and Varsity who was up at Etiwanda HS for the regional, placed 6th. Nice job by all!

Parent Meeting, Dudley's Bread Pick-up, & CG Tournament

Tonight there is a Parent Meeting in Room 405 (orchestra/choir room) at 7:00pm. At the meeting you will also be able to pick up your Dudley's Bread orders.

This Saturday we would love to get all the parent help we can for the first of two Color Guard Tournaments held here at MMHS. We need parents to help run the tournament. Times are between 8am to 4pm. If you can volunteer, please email me at: jchristensen1@sandi.net.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Jake Boring for not only making the CA All-State Honor Band this past weekend, but also placing as first chair in our state on Alto Saxophone! Way to represent the Sapphire Sound!

Are you hungry?

Are you hungry? Last chance this week to order Dudley's Bread. ALL orders are due no later than Thursday morning at 10:00am. There are 22 different types of bread to choose from along with macaroons and fruit bars. All are delicious! Bread and orders are scheduled for pick up at the Band room on Thursday, February 23 after 6:00pm. Contact any Band or Color Guard member to order your bread today.

Spring Semester Calendar Out & Dudley's Bread

Do you have a yellow spring semester calendar on the refrigerator? If not, have your student bring one home today! Many important dates and events are listed on the calendar. The most current events will always be updated on the website calendar, but the "hardcopy" one should help everyone keep track of schedules.

We are currently running a fundraiser selling Dudley's Bread. The loaves of bread and fruit bars are delicious! Many people know about this local bread company, so please spread the word and take orders. Order forms are available in the band room. This is a short sale, so please turn in all orders by Thursday, February 16th.

Fun Day!

"Fun Day" for the band and color guard was a huge success today! We had about 75 students stay to watch a movie, play some games, eat food, and just hang out. Good times had by all! :)
