Parent Booster Meeting Thursday, 3/29/12 at 7pm

We are having our monthly Parent Booster Meeting at 7pm in the Band Room, Thursday 3/29/12. I hope you can take the time to come hear about our many activities we have had recently and hear about the upcoming events in April. Hope to see you at 7pm!

Wind Ensemble Concert Thursday, 3/22, 7pm

Thursday, 3/22, the top ensembles from the Music program at Mira Mesa HS will be performing their concert festival pieces in the Auditorium at 7:00pm. Please come show your support of our Wind Ensemble along with the String Orchestra and Madrigals. There will be a $5 donation taken at the door.

• Wednesday, March 14th - Open House for 8th Graders (Small String Group & Pit Orchestra). Call time is 5pm.
  
• Thursday, March 15th - Phantom Performance (3pm)
• Friday, March 16th - Narek Hakhnazaryan, Cello (Guest artist on campus - 2011 Tchaikovsky Festival Winner-4th Period)
• Friday March 16th - Phantom Performance (Sold Out - 7pm)
• Saturday, March 17th - Phantom Performance (Sold Out - 7pm)
• Tuesday, March 20th - Middle School Top Groups Concert (Support future Marauders - 7pm at Mira Mesa Auditorium)
• Wednesday, March 21st - Concert Band rehearsal afterschool, 2:45-4:00pm.
  
• Thursday, March 22nd - Festival Concert at 7pm (String Orchestra, Madrigals, Wind Ensemble - Call time at 6pm)
• Friday, March 23rd - Concert Band to Festival at Eastlake HS. (Call time 3:00pm - Full Concert Attire) Festival is free to watch at Eastlake HS.
  
• Saturday, March 24th - WGI Color Guard Tournament here at MMHS and Jenny Craig Pavilion on the campus of USD. We need MANY volunteers on both sites!
• Saturday, March 24th - Composer's Festival for Wind Ensemble, Canyon Crest Academy (Call time 11:00am - carpools. Performance at 12:30pm)
  
• Sunday, March 25th - WGI Color Guard Tournament at USD, Jenny Craig Pavilion. Volunteers needed!
  
• Wednesday, March 28th - Taste of Mira Mesa (Jazz Ensemble & String Ensembles)

Hems are coming out!

Here's a message from our Uniform Chair, Maria Johnson:

We will be needing some helping hands to prepare our Marching Band Uniforms for cleaning. This Saturday morning, March 10th, starting at 8:30am we will be taking out the hems in all the pants and jacket sleeves. Please come to the Uniform Room (down the hallway from the band room) and we will show you what to do! NO skills required at all….just you! If you have any seam rippers, please bring them to pull out thread. We will have some to use too! Parents, Grandparents and students are welcome at anytime starting at 8:30.
