Championships, Saturday 12/1/12

SCSBOA Championships is Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Ramona HS in Riverside, CA.  We are honored and thrilled to be a part of Championships and it is our hope you will be able to come up and support us as we compete one last time this season.  If not, think positive thoughts at 8:24pm when the Mira Mesa HS Sapphire Sound Marching Band and Color Guard will be called to the field for their Championship performance.

We are "All In" this season and I am very proud of our group!

Parent Meeting for Band & Color Guard, Thursday

There is a Parent Meeting in the Band room Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm.  The meeting will include information about Championships and the Spring Trip for both groups. Hope you can make it!

Night Rehearsal Tonight & Thursday

Reminder:  There is Night Rehearsal tonight and Thursday from 5-9pm.  Parents, alumni, and supporters of the Band and Color Guard are always welcome to come watch the run-through at 8:30pm!  Come cheer us on!

And it's Official...

And it's official, the Sapphire Sound has made it to Championships 2012!  We are ranked 3rd out of the 5A Band and Color Guards. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Championships will be held at Ramona HS in Riverside on Saturday, December 1st.  Our performance order is third from the end. Performance time is 8:40pm with Awards at 9:45pm.

This has been a great marching season and I'd like to thank all of the students, staff, and families for their support.  This is what Mira Mesa is about and I am proud to be a part of this family.  We are, and will... "Be All In"!

Westview HS Tournament, THURSDAY

Thursday, November 15, 2012 is the last Field Tournament of the regular marching season for Mira Mesa HS.  If you haven't seen our Field Show then this would be a great opportunity to do so at Westview HS.  After this performance on Thursday, we will go with the Parade Band and Guard to Arcadia HS on Saturday and then we will be on a break for one week (Nov. 18-25).  When we return from the break we will prepare for Championships, which will be held on Saturday, December 1st in Ramona (Riverside).  Please look at the Google calendar on the website and the hard copy semester calendar for the rehearsal schedule on November 27th and 29th.

The Call Sheet information for the Westview Field Tournament is the following:

Transportation will be by bus ONLY going to Westview.  ALL parents will need to pick up their student at Westview HS at the completion of the event, 9:00pm.

Thursday, November 15

3:30pm            Call Time for ALL Band and Color Guard

4:00pm            Load Buses (3)

4:20pm           Arrive at Westview HS

Unload EQ / Bathroom Break 

4:45pm            Dress into Uniforms

5:15pm            Warm-Up

6:40pm            PERFORMANCE

7:00pm            Change and head into stands

8:30pm            AWARDS

9:00pm            Parents Pick-up ALL students from Westview HS (Students may go home)

9:15pm            Drumline and Volunteers meet back at MMHS and help unload equipment and instruments.

Chili's "Give Back" restaurant Fundraiser - Tuesday

This Tuesday, November 13, 2012 we are having a restaurant fundraiser at the Chili's in Mira Mesa.  The address is 5969 Lusk Blvd (off of Mira Mesa Blvd. towards the 805).  The best part of this "Give Back" fundraiser is the time allotment for our group which is from 11:00am to 10:00pm.  When you click on the flyer, you will see there are three, so please print them out and hand them to everyone you know!  Come eat some good food and support the Band and Color Guard!

CALL TIME: 5:45AM

PARADE BAND into uniform: 12:00PM

ALL BAND & GUARD NOT IN PARADE TO STADIUM: 12:00PM  (Clean Stadium from 12:00-12:30pm)

PARADE BAND warm-up: 12:30PM

MMHS PARADE BAND PERFORMANCE: 2:00PM

AM AWARDS: 2:20PM

Stadium Opens for PM Tournament: 2:45pm

ALL BAND & COLOR GUARD TO 400 BLDG TO CHANGE FOR COMPETITION: 6:00PM

MUSIC ENSEMBLE IN ROOM: 7:20PM

MMHS FIELD PERFORMANCE: 8:00PM

PM AWARDS:  9:30PM

ALL BAND & COLOR GUARD CLEAN-UP: 10:00PM and hopefully finish before 12:00am!
