"A Taste of Music" Concert this Thursday

Our final concert benefiting the Band and Color Guard program this school year will be this Thursday, May 31 at 6:00pm at school. The concert is titled, "A Taste of Music" and will be held in the Theatre, at the Outdoor Stage, and inside the Gymnasium. Your $10 donation ticket will allow you entrance through the 400/300 Buildings Gates. From there you will receive a wristband and two food coupons to redeem for one of our many "samples" of donated food. I'd like to thank the Mira Mesa community for once again supporting the Sapphire Sound through their food donations.

Call time for the students to be at school is 4:30pm. The gates will open at 5:45pm and entertainment will begin as you enter. The schedule of performances begins with Percussion Ensemble and they will be located across from the Theatre at 5:45pm, followed by Jazz Band at 6:00pm at the Outdoor Stage. Color Guard teams along with the Saxophone Quartet and Clarinet Quartet will be in the Gym starting at 6:20pm. After the Gym performances, the evening will continue in the Theatre with Concert Band performing at 7:25pm and Wind Ensemble performing at 7:50pm. The entire evening should conclude by 8:30pm.

This is a fundraiser, so please bring your family and friends!

Leadership Info for Band

Here's the information forms for Band Executive Leadership and Section Leader. All essays are single-spaced, one page in length, and are due on Friday, May 25th. Everyone interested in a council position should be turning in an essay, not just the Executive council positions. Please use the Executive requirements as your guide for all council positions.

2012 - 2013 Color Guard Auditions

Auditions for the 2012-2013 Mira Mesa High School Color Guard are: Tuesday and Wednesday May 29th and 30th from 2:45pm to 4:45 at Mira Mesa HS in the Lunch area. Come and be a part of the Sapphire Sound Family and bring your friends.

Final Parent Meeting of the School Year

Our final and very important Parent Meeting will be this Thursday, May 24 at 7:00pm in the Band Room. Please try to attend the meeting as an important discussion and vote will be taken about the Band and Color Guard's invitation to Hawaii next December. This is a major invitation, so I will be discussing the trip, the details, and we together, will make the final decision.

Dudley's Bread Fundraiser

It's time for Dudley's Bread again! All orders are due this Tuesday, May 15th in the afternoon. Please send in your order forms and payments in one envelope. The bread orders will arrive in time for the final Parent Booster Meeting, Thursday, May 24th at 7:00pm.

Congratulations to the Concert Band for receiving a Superior Rating at the CMEA-SBS festival tonight. Nice job everyone!

This is a reminder Concert Band is performing at Wangenheim Middle School tonight for the CMEA-SBS Festival. All students are to arrive at Wangenheim MS in full concert attire by 8:00pm. Performance is at 9:00pm and will conclude at 9:45pm. Please be sure to be on time.

Concert Band will be attending the CMEA Festival this Friday evening. All students are to meet at Wangenheim Middle School by 8:00pm in full concert attire. Warm-up is at 8:30 with Performance at 9:00pm. Please pick up your student from Wangenheim by 9:45pm. Thank you!
